Why calibration matters

Groundwater temperature varies widely by region.

Sonic measurement depends on the speed of sound, which depends on temperature. Indicative groundwater temperatures span from near freezing in northern Canada to around 30 °C in tropical regions — which is why Echo supports per-borehole calibration rather than a single global value.
